We’re just two guys who bonded over sports, competition, and a shared inability to say no to a really good cup of coffee. Somewhere between game nights, overly caffeinated conversations, and saying “we should totally roast our own beans” one too many times, Colourway Coffee became a real thing.

The name comes from a colourway — a combination of different elements brought together to create something unique. Turns out, coffee works pretty much the same way.

Every coffee is a mix of choices. Where it’s grown, who grows it, the variety, how it’s processed, how we roast it, and how you brew it all play a part. Change one thing, and suddenly you’ve got a totally different cup in your hands.

And that’s kind of the fun of it.

What started as two friends nerding out over coffee quickly turned into a lot of learning, tasting, roasting, tweaking, re-tweaking, and drinking way more coffee than was probably necessary. Now, we roast right here in Hamilton, Ontario, chasing coffees that are bright, fun, approachable, and full of personality.

We take coffee seriously — ourselves, considerably less so. Great coffee should be exciting, a little unexpected, and something you actually want to share with people you like.

So whether you know your anaerobic naturals from your washed Ethiopians, drink whatever’s in the pot, or just really like the bag, you’re welcome here.
